may the force be with you

So I thought I'd try out my Williams Sonoma Star Wars cookie cutters.  Who would have known they'd come up with something that cool (thanks Lisa Atkinson for the giftie!).  Mandatory supplies:  food coloring from Williams Sonoma or other cooking store (who else makes black frosting?), Williams Sonoma "decorating pen" in black and white.  They are hard little tubes, but necessary for the thin lines.  Silpat cooking mat and cooling racks don't hurt either...

They took a really long time to make, but I think the end product was worth it.  You need a little bit of a steady hand and patience to get the Yoda color right, (green plus black plus 1 drop yellow), and to do the lining.  Have fun.

Copic Markers

Since nobody bought me these for Christmas...  I went and splurged a bit on the Copic Ciao Markers (Set A).  Finally got to use them Sunday night at 11...  I really think that I need to get some more bright colors as I don't love the color selection, but for starters this was cool.

So here's the start.  It was amazingly therapeutic to color with these markers.  I will eventually make cards out of these, but here's what's going on so far.

kate spade sample sale and copic markers?

What does one have to do with the other?  Nothing other than I bought both this week.

Which makes you drool more?  The black Nylon Sam was $69.00 and the Marivaux Margot in red for $137.00 is a steal.  Further, I've wanted the Copic markers for a long long time.  I watched Mary Jo McGraw demo them today at Spokane Art Supply.  They're on sale at Dick Blick, so Spokane Art Supply matched the price.

Further, I tried out my Cole Haan Air Bria's today.  I bought them for my trip for comfort, but they didn't come in time.  I do hate flat-style shoes, but these were super cute with jeans and a blazer.

Hopefully, I will have some projects to show with my Copic markers soon!

6PM.com

And just like that, today's Super Bowl sale is on Calvin Klein at 6PM.com. Yessss

The "Olive" is on sale, but I already have it (see yesterday's post) so I picked up the Carley.

Only $35.00.  Yessss.

The Cole Haan's are stil on sale as well,  I picked these up (Air Bria) yesterday to see if they were comfortable walking/dress shoes.  We'll see.

Honestly, I picked up some more stuff too, but let's not talk about that.  Gotta get to my superbowl party.

gypsy crafting

So I finally did get around to using my Gypsy with my Cricut.  Here's what I made - thank you cards for the year.  Because, you know, people like to give me gifts?

Cut out a bunch of pieces in different colors, then layered to make a bunch of pieces.  I can also use for birthday cards, I guess.  The bottom Black Kimono card is already cut (Hero Arts), but I thought it was fun to attach the fan with a brad so that it can move.  I wish I had more time in the day to play with my Gypsy!!!

Shoes, shoes.

I was reading an article on Corporette today about comfy heels.  These are my favorite for suit attire:  Calvin Klein Olive pumps.  Picked them up @ Nordy's sale for a reasonable price.  Classy but still hot.

Speaking of comfy, people my height should not wear flats.  Period.  But... exceptions can be made.  My first pair of "real" flats that I may actually wear out in public -  I've been watching them for a long time at Nordy's rack.  Coach shoes!!!  They are super cute on.
Just got them yesterday!

Finally, to round out my shoe expedition, I picked up these Enzo's on sale @ the Rack for less than they were at the semi-annual sale this summer.  Love them in this color.  Bought them in gray this fall, but for $35, red is way cool.

That's all.  There was a lot more to the shopping expedition, but hey, this is a shoes and crafts blog, right?  Alright.  Just one more thing then, picked up a new fragrance while I was at it, to go to rocker concerts in...  Love it.  Just love it.
